Jacqui Gajewski is both a fine art and portrait photographer who lives in Toronto and specializes in black and white portrait photography.

In her fine art career, she has strived to capture the beauty of natural light and her work has been included in gallery exhibitions as well as several private collections.  Recent work has included the use of liquid emulsions hand-brushed onto various surfaces, upon which images are then projected and further manipulated by scratching, bleaching, and painting the photographic surface, a process which forces the eye to go deeper and to further explore the life of the image beyond its outward structure.

Her current work involves large, toned, gelatin silver prints, all of which explore the impermanence of the ephemeral world, and most particularly, the physical body, through the use of slow exposures and spontaneous movement, and is very much in keeping with her life-long interest in Buddhist philosophy and eastern mysticism.
